Area Info : Middlebury
Inn
on the Green
Located in downtown Middlebury the Inn offers access to great
water just a short walk from the front door and a variety of
streams within twenty minutes. Known for its great rooms and
Vermont feel it's a great place to settle in during your trip.
Waybury
Inn
Across the street from one of our favorite rivers. Down the
hill from some of the best brook trout waters in central Vermont.
And, one of the best pubs around. A great day of fishing minutes
from the Inn followed up with a few micro brews in the pub.
These are just a couple of the reasons you might look into
a stay at the Waybury Inn, East Middlebury.
Lilac Inn
The town of Brandon is one of Vermont's up and coming communities.
Brandon is home to a growing community of artists, Warren Kimbal
among them. Located at the base of the Green Mountains western
slope it is also home to some great fishing. The Neshobe river
has been one of our favorites for years. At one time or another
both Foster and I have lived on the river and called it our
home water. There isn't a river in Vermont that we know better
than the Neshobe. The Lilac Inn is under 5 minutes from the
Neshobe. Don't forget a pint of the Black Stuff (Guiness not
coffee) at KD's Pub in town after a trip.
Both of these Inns have long been known as wedding destinations.
During the summer there are weddings every weekend. Stream and
Brook can handle groups up to ten anglers so if you and your
wedding party are looking for something to do while in town,
check us out.
The
Swift House Inn
Located in the heart of Middlebury, a fishing hub, this 20-room
former governor's mansion offers the essence of New England
warmth. Inside, candlelit dinners await you. Large, comfortable
rooms offer modern amenities in period decor. Relax. Sip a glass
of wine by the fire, or ponder your favorite book in the library
while the kids explore the garden or sled on a nearby hill.
Every window frames a picture of country tranquility, yet shops,
museums, and Middlebury College are a short walk away.
The Gazebo Inn
Experience a classic bed and breakfast home in the quintessential
Vermont town of Brandon. Cozy elegance and true New England
style are found at this 1860s National Historic Register home.
The Gazebo is located in picturesque Brandon at the foot of
The Green Mountain National Forest. Mountain vistas and pastoral
scenes abound.
Rivers
Bend Campground
This site sits on one of the prime fishing spots in the Middlebury
area. The New Haven River empties into the Otter Creek right
at the campground. The river around the campground is very wadable
and full of big rainbows, browns, and small mouth. The campground
has tent and RV sites, a heated pool and other activities for
the non-anlgers.
