River Report: November 5th, 2018
Rivers state wide got a good boost in level the end of last week. Most water sheds received 2+ inches of rain from Thursday to Saturday. They are still very high and dirty. They look to remain that way as we could get another inch by Wednesday morning. Temperatures are in the low 40’s.
These conditions are not necessarily bad, if you know where to go and how to fish them. You must also have the understanding that these conditions in November are a great challenge. It is always good to get a good push of water during spawning time. Many times when things settle down, you’ll find fresh fish where there was none prior to the rain.
On Saturday we had the privilege to guide 8 hearty soles staying at WhistlePig whiskey. What a fun group of friends to brave the elements. It was pouring most of the time, gusty winds, high dirty water filled with leaves. They were all up for the challenge and fished hard until the skunk sang. There were a few fish on but non to the net. Good thing someone brought the WhistlePig!
