Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope everyone has a peaceful day with friends and family. If you are thinking of throwing some line over the next couple day here is what you can expect.

Rivers around the state are in mid winter condition. Levels are good, water temps are in the mid to upper 30’s, air temps today are only in the teens, banks are snow covered and ice will be building. Not what we expect for this time of year. The brutal cold will only be here a short time as we get back into the 40 by Sunday.

It takes a special kind of angler to get out under those conditions. There is more preparation and safety precautions to consider to have a fun time on a day like today. If your not one of those people there is only 5 months until better weather. If you are interested in extending your time on the water in less than perfect conditions, let us show you what it takes.

If you are really not interested in that type of fishing, make sure you check back occasionally for our river reports and blogs this winter. We will continue to post useful info in the world of fly fishing. We will also have some give aways and maybe a contest or two where you’ll have a chance to get some great schwag.
