I am first an outdoor enthusiast, angler and artist who enjoys the subtleties of existence. I’ve been fishing for over 30 years and fly fishing most of that time. I started fishing the mountain creeks in PA for Rainbows, using mostly rooster tails and an Ugly Stick. Now, I am excited to go out for anything, primarily with a fly rod. There are over twenty species here in Vermont. Bordering states offer an entirely different challenge.! I like to fish salt, fresh, ponds, lakes, brackish, inlets, you name it! They all have their own pluses and minuses.

I have been fortunate enough to work quite a few seasons guiding for Stream and Brook Fly Fishing. It all started with the OCC maybe in 2012 or 2013. Prior to working with Stream and Brook, I attended Sweetwater Fly Fishing Guide Training out in Big Timber, MT in 2011. I also worked a few seasons for Stumptown Anglers and Glacier Raft Company, very close to Glacier National Park in Northwestern Montana. There, I picked up valuable information about Back country CPR and First Aid,reading and navigating waterways, swift water rescue, fly fishing, hunting and all things remotely outdoors. I started tying flies the winter of 2006 at Arend’s Fly shop in Columbia Falls, MT. Even though I have worked on several patterns and gained familiarity with the process, I still feel like a novice.

I love to share the knowledge I have accumulated with clients, family and friends that are not so familiar with these sports. I guide and instruct in areas such as outdoor education and boat safety, knot tying, fly selection, insect identification, seining, and proper boat and fish handling.

In a state where resources could be managed a bit more for the long term, I appreciate the efforts of such groups as MDTU, Friends of the Mad River and NHRAA. We can continue to learn from these groups through community service and resource management. I am grateful that I get to educate and learn ways to share our precious resources. I love to enjoy the breath-taking views and resources that are offered in this state.
