River Report 6/16/20
Longer days, lots of sunshine and great fishing is the theme currently. Some cool nights has helped with water temperatures and a mix of wild and stocked trout have been keeping us busy.
Bass and Pike conditions are ideal right now as the Otter Creek and other Lake Champlain tributaries are low and we can walk n wade pretty much anywhere we want.
Some of our guides have also been targeting Gar and Bowfin while not guiding and these fish are a blast on a fly rod.
Recently we have been getting folks on their first Pike ever, first trout and other fish. It’s wonderful seeing folks learning and it all coming together!
We are doing a rain dance as parts of Vt are on the verge of a drought and we sure could use a nice steady rain. However it’s looking like 80’s and 90’s daytime temperatures and sunny days through the weekend. Fish early for cooler water temps and head way up in the hills to still fine water temps in the high 50’s and low 60’s.
With high school graduations and Father’s Day coming up on Sunday a guided fly fishing trip makes a great present.
