The NE corner of Vermont got hit with what authorities are calling a 1 in 1000 year rain event this morning. Our prayers are with all those impacted, and with 1st responders as they try to manage this unbelievable weather event.
This has been an another July of weekly flash flooding and major flooding in certain areas. Most of the state is in cleanup, and trying to restore some sense of normalcy.
While people in these areas continue to deal with this devastation to property and livelihood, many watershed outside of the NE corner have been in decent shape. Mountain brooks and midsized stream are in great shape and fishing well.
We have a couple days of dry weather which will help with the clean up effort and continue to let rivers get back to normal flows. Unfortunately air temps will be pushing 90 and water temps will likely get over 70 large rivers.
Now is a good time to hire a guide. They know where river conditions are fishable and fishing well.
