River around the state are finally getting the break they needed. We have been in a great pattern of every other day rain and cooler air temps. The rain has brought levels up above average. Big rivers are dirty, however small and mid sized streams are stained but great flow.

We’ve got light rain all day today. Father’s Day will be a better day to get outdoors, and then we have a week of dry and more summer like temperatures.

We’ve been having many great trips with clients rain or shine. Many different species have been eating flies and our clients have been happy learning and catching. Large groups are a blast. Many large groups are beginners. Teaching them how to cast well enough to catch fish is very exciting for guest and guides. We provide entertainment for WhislePig farm stay guests and recently did a 7 man bachelor party.

Many hatches have been coming off recently. March Browns, tan caddis and small yellow stoneflies (yellow sallies) have been most prevent. Imitations of all phases have been productive. For brook trout, high floating dries such as Ausable bombers and SS sulfur have been killer.

book a trip today.
