Rivers up and down the state are in great shape. Since my last report we have had a couple storms that shut down much of the river fishing. Recently we have had great weather and the trout fish has picked up.
As we move into the 1st couple days in July. Expect river temps to soar over 70. A big dome of hot weather will be impacting us with temps in the mid 90, hazy and humid, with chances of evening thunderstorms everyday. Yesterday the Winooski was 64 degrees at 9 am. That will change by next weekend so bring your thermometer for safe catch and release practice.

I had a client out yesterday morning who was getting hook up simply swinging a double fly rig with an 88 and a muskrat. Unbelievable , We couldn’t get a single one to the net. A little beginner operator error.
Mountain brooks have been handing out some impressive brook trout this year . Top water takes, and some technical casts have payed off. Top flys. Ausable wulff and Royal coachman in size#12 have been the ticket.
