If I sound like I’m repeating myself, it’s because I am. We continue to get hammered by weekend rain that limits fishing options for 2-3 days, then we get a couple great days until the weekend.

This makes guiding pretty difficult, when many of our trips are on weekends. To be a good guide service, you have to be flexible and knowledgeable in order to give your clients a fun experience. Knowing which streams clean up quickly, or moving the trip to still water opportunities on ponds and lakes where clients have an opportunity at catching multiple species.

There is still plenty of the season to go. We just hope for a little more availability to fish rivers and stream. March Brown and tan caddis are the insects that are most likely to be hatching mid afternoon to evening. Nymphs imitation of both are killing most of the day. Mini muddlers have been a very effective streamer pattern .

Father’s Day is fast approaching. There is still time to gift him with a gift certificate or book a trip and get on the water with him and make some memories.
