We have been lucky here in Vermont, it been hot, but not like the south west, for the most part cool. We have received rain, but not like the mid west. Actually, it been a beautiful spring. Farmers fields are green, my garden is growing and streams and brooks are flowing with plenty of water.

Over the past three days, most watersheds around the state have received 1.5 -2.5 inches of rain. This was a much needed drink of water for rivers that will breath new life. Air temps have dropped from low 80’s last weekend to the low 60’s this weekend. Some waterways might be a little dirty where a down pour . Water temps have also dropped to more comfortable temps, low 60’s.

Last week, top water action was great. The bows were taking March Brown imitations, brookie were all over Ausable Wulffs  and bass were hot on hoppers. This is when fly fishing is at its best. Nothing like a splashy rise on high floating dry fly.

Heading to Vermont this summer? Look us up, we’ll show you a good time in some of the most beautiful place in the state. We usually post a River Report at least once a week, so bookmark this page. We also post other interesting things related to fly fishing on social media so don’t forget to friend and follow and share with the other fishy people you know.
