Happy Mother’s Day! We wish all mothers a great day with family, hopefully something outdoors. It continues to be chilly here in Vermont. So outdoors won’t be as nice as it could be. Maybe we’ll get some sun this afternoon after some rain this morning in north and central Vermont.

Rivers up and down the state are in great shape right now. We received 1.5 inches of rain earlier this week. That was very much needed for everything in nature. River are now back to great flow and clarity and temps have been in the low 50s all week. Some rain this morning will make for great fishing early this week.
With river temps in the 50s and the Dept of fish and wildlife starting there stocking program catch rates should start to improve.
We’ve been having hatches of small black stones and tan caddis. Look for Hendricksons this week if we get some sun and warm air temperature. No surface activity yet, so nymphs and streamers are still the way to go.

We have been having fun with some large groups staying with WhistlePig and their FarmStay program. These groups are comprised of people from across the USA, and sometimes around the world. They stay at the farm for many reasons. We are fun facilitators for these folks. WhislePig provides these guests the opportunity to get away from the farm to have some fun and see Vermont. What better way than an introduction to fly fishing.

If you would like an introduction to fly fishing and having fun in the outdoors. Reach out to us and we’ll get you set up.
